Muay Thai Mma fighting?
in MMA or UFC they mostly use muay thai
so i was wondering what fighting style is effective 'against' muay thai???
this question is just wrong.
MMA isn't Muay Thai - it's Mixed Martial Arts. Muay Thai is one art - the art of punching, kicking, knees, and elbows (8 limbs is what it means).
If a person ONLY studied Muay Thai it would be quite easy to eliminate the striking advantage by simply grabbing them and holding on. If you can't punch or kick you can't win a muay thai fight. The next progression is to take the person down to the ground - Muay Thai is a standing striking art - there is no ground grappling and no submission defense or attacks on the ground because these things are against the rules in Muay Thai.
So what is effective against muay thai? One thing is being better at Muay Thai than the other guy. But as far as a system that would be effective - Greco-Roman wrestling, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Catch Wrestling, Sambo, or any of a dozen other grappling-based styles.
