I recently started work for a care agency and left after 4 weeks as it wasnt for me?
from my final pay the company have deducted £50 for the CRB check which i understand, but they have also deducted over £200 for training and time! can they do this? my training consisted of going into their office and watching 4 training videos over a four week period at 2 or so hours each time. I wasn't paid for this.
I have not signed a contract, but received a staff handbook which stated vaguely training costs may be recuperated, didn't say if these were internal or external or what the costs would be. Can anyone help?

I have written to them to get them to justify these costs, does anyone have any exp of this?
I would have to guess that since you did not protest when they notified you that the training costs would be taken out of your check, then you are out of luck.
