I have been having difficulty with this kick:?

I am a white belt in TKD and quite a bit older than all the others. I have been told that I have a pretty mean front kick, but I have a little difficulty on my roundhouses. When I pivot and try to snap the leg out, it feels almost like my hips are locking up and I have a lot of pain there at times. I am assuming it is my hips, it is right where the legs meet the crotch, in that joint right there. It seems to be worse on my left leg, than my right and mostly when I used the left leg for pivoting.

Does anyone know of a way to stretch this out more? I think it may either be the tendons or I could have some sort of arthritis in this joint or something. I am really flexible. I can do splits better than a lot of girls, but the only thing I can think of to do to stretch this out is "buttter-flys" and splits. Any suggestions? Or could this be that I am not doing the kick correctly?

To address the pain problem first, there is a certain carbohydrate found within bones that restores the cartilage within the joints of the body. Consuming cartilage and bone marrow such as breaking apart a chicken bone and eating the bone marrow can naturally help your cartilage regrow since our bodies stop producing cartilage within our joints from the ages of 16-20. Cartilage and bone marrow have this carbohydrate which can only be used in the body as cartilage for the joints. Also try to rotate the limb. It's a bit hard to rotate that joint, but the rotation of a joint creates natural lubricants between the bones to lessen the pain. This is the reason why many taekwondo instructors have you do knee rotations.

The proper roundhouse kick is executed by pivoting on the front of your feet while rotating with your knee still cocked, and then snapping out the leg when the hip has rotated for enough and then withdrawing it and placing it back on the ground, this of course changes when it comes to sparring.
