A Silly Question about Trainers & Stationary Bikes?
Im thinking about buying the 09 Cycle Ops Fluid 2 Trainer with the mat & slick tire & front wheel riser al for $420 total.All items are top of line.Then i had second thought about, the Stamina Air Resistance up right bike for $97 dollars or the Marcy magnetic Resistance bike for $142 dollars.Both of these stationary bikes has tension cables on them.Which due think would give me a better work out.Is their any comparison's.The 2 stationary bikes are sold at walmart,lol lol.Thanks 1/29/09.Please be honest with your answers
The best training would be riding you bike. The second best would be on your bike using a trainer. I am using a magnetic trainer for my bike, but it's the only thing that I can afford at the moment. I put a slick tire on the back of my Mountain Bike and it works pretty good. The resistance is changed by gear selection and the speed of the wheel, it good for cardio but wont simulate climbing. A fluid drive with the remote resistance would be a better choice. I don't think a stationary bike can duplicate a good fluid trainer unless you spend a lot more money.
