What is the Difference between Double Weave and single weave for gi?
I'm buying a new Judo gi and i just want to know what the difference is between a single weave gi and a double weave gi. The double weave is significantly more expensive.
Double weave judogi's won't last forever. They will last for a long time but mine is getting shredded a bit and I've had it for less than two years. A double weave gi will be thicker. Simply put, if you've ever felt a single weave gi imagine it being double the thickness and double the weight.
If you are a lightweight and you are trying Judo for the first time I'd buy the single weave. If you are 200lbs. or over you probably should get a double weave. You can buy a low end double weave gi for under $100.
