My 360 just died from the "three red rings of death", I need some advice on how to prevent this problem?
Here is a list of things I did with my 360:
1: Had it plugged into a surge protector.
2: Used a Nyko introcooler.
3: I had the 360 on on the carpet which was a big NO NO.
Should I continue to use these methods other than keeping the 360 on a carpet or use something new?
This advice is for my new 360, which I am going to get within the week.
1) Well I answered a question not to long ago on using a surge protector. According to the Microsoft troubleshoot site don't plug it into one as the brick to comes with already has its own built in surge protector. Click on the link below for more details.
2) I used to have a intercooler for my system, however I had the 3 rings of death soon thereafter (within a month). According to some guy at xbox 360 repair center, he told me that since the intercooler does not have its own power supply it is using the power from the xbox 360 to power it. In doing so you are making the xbox 360 work harder thus heat up even more to power those little fans.
3) Yeah on the carpet was a no no :p
