Can a first baseman use a regualr glove instead of a mitt?
I don't really like the first baseman mitts but the glove i have is 13 inches and has a wide web. Will a future coach make me change or should i just switch now?
I think you are fine with it. I play 1st, pitcher and 2nd and I never really liked the 1st base mitts. My coach said it didn't matter if I didn't use it. I am pretty sure that they just make certain gloves like that for the baseman's ease of play. It just makes it a little more comfortable and easy for them. If you don't like it and it will effect your playing then you shouldn't use it. But if a coach tries to make you switch just tell him that you don't play as well with it and then he will just let you use your same glove.
