Would this work as a judo/bjj mat?
it will cost me about $175 for foam puzzle mats at walmart so ill have enough room to do some sparring on (i want at least a 15ft by 15ft mat) but i heard something about using foam used under carpet as a mat for martial arts has anyone ever used this and how much would it cost?
I also heard of people saving newspapers the crumpling them up and sandwiching them between 2 pieces of cardboard and using them as a mat
which one do you think would for a good judo/bjj mat? i know the newspaper one might be the cheapest but im not sure how well it would pad someone and it would take awhile to save up enough newspaper...
any info/advice would be appreciated because i would like something that would cost under $100 with decent padding
ask this in the martial arts section youll get more answers. I used to roll on a carpet that we put on top of our living room carpet, that work but you have to make sure its the kind that doesn't give rug burn. basically youll be able to grapple but you can really do take downs unless you build a proper floor. so just mats would work
