Is there a setting on a Samsung 46" lcd tv from 120 to 60hz?
The images seems to skip and jump primarily on TV dramas and movies. I hear that may be a solution.
You can try that, but I suspect something else is going on. My 46 inch Samsung doesn't do that and I've left the Automotion on since I got the set nearly 3 years ago, using it with numerous different inputs and services.
I would want to check out your situation with a variety of inputs: over-the-air antenna, cable/satellite receiver, DVD player, game box, whatever you have. If the problem only appears with one input, you've partially solved it. If it's with everything, then yes, something is weird with the TV itself. I'd want to start be resetting it to its factory defaults. Still no help? Is the set within the return period where you bought it, i.e. 30 days at Wal-Mart or 90 days at Costco? I'd take it back and get something else. If it's within the warranty repair period, that might be another option.
