18 weeks pregnant and i feel a large womb, normal?
research says that i should feel my uterus 1.5-2 inches BELOW my belly button. well sitting and standing i feel mine 2-2.5 inches ABOVE my belly button. both the father and i are of average build, weight, and height. i know that i am 18 weeks along and that baby is ok because its got a healthy heart and is kicking a lot!! why is it soo high up. i feel the punches up at my belly button and kicks way down by my pubic bone. could it be twins or just a tall tall baby. or is this normal at all for it to be placed where a 24 weeks mother is placed womb wise. my doctor didnt really talk about it because she was runing around alot, that day! so i turn to you and ask. why is my uterus placed 4 inches higher than it should be?
If your doctor saw a real issue with it, she'd have told you. Generally, women's uteruses are tilted in such a way that you SHOULD be feeling it 1.5-2 inches below. Perhaps yours is just tilted differently. It could be the position of your belly button in relation to your torso. Your doctor measures your uterus from pubic bone to top at every appointment--she's not concerned with where the top is in relation to your belly button. There are too many variables.
Don't stress.
