Does anyone know what type fabric and backing to use to make your own patches?
I am making iron on/sew on patches for leather and denim jackets. I have sewn out several but they don't feel right. They need to be stiffer but I'm not sure about the fabric. I was told to use twill, but it doesn't feel right either. Maybe the problem is the embroidery stabilizer/backing I am using. Help
You can purchase patch blanks if you want something that is very firm.
I use twill and denim without a problem.
Use a cut away stabilizer as a tear away will not hold up to a larger number of stitches or a dense design.
Once attached to the jacket, they will be okay.
