Is this normal when weight lifting?
I switched my muscle gears from normal to hardcore around 1 week ago
yesterday i was doing 75lb shoulder press/arm 150lbs for 4-5 reps not much of a weight but i havent gone past 65s in 5 months.
info i am no beginner to this.
I am an advanced lifter.
so when i was doing my neck i had this veins busting and i had this feeling that my veins are gonna pop out of my neck its some weird feeling,
and today i was doing hacksquat
4plates/side 400lbs if you count the rack to 2 reps all the way down till the thing hit the bottom.
i had this same feeling from yesterday.
tommorow i got arms day
i want to go upto 300 for close grip max.Although i have never gone past 245 for close grip i believe in my muscle and i trust it completely and got a good mind muscle connection.
I heard it from couple of buddies this kinda thing happened to them.One guy he told me once he had this feeling when he was press 120s for incline chest press dumbbell 240lbs.
In my experience of lifting weight for 25 plus years, I recommend that you transition gradually (e.g. a month) from normal to hardcore. Give your body some time to adapt. Huge, sudden changes in intensity increases the chance for injury or something weird.
Are you taking an aspirin prior to workout for blood thinning and to reduce inflammation?
