I'm 35yr old male. My knee hurt after bowling 6 months back or so... the one that takes the weight. Bursytis?
Just wondrin what are common knee ailments other active guys out there experience and how you deal with sudden aching joints. I believe it was just pressure that caused my knee cap to kinda pop and feel wobbly, been wearing elastic knee support since. No X-rays or doctor consultations, The knee got pretty bad again 2mths ago in a badminton game, cud barely bend my knee to get into the car for 2 days but pain soon subsided and have recently gone back to bowling despite lingering discomfort but I wear a good knee support. Would you guys do the same, ie ignore the discomfort and continue using the knee or see an orthopedic doctor pronto? Don't wana over react...don't want it to worsen becoz of ignorance and neglect either.
If your knee cap is popping go see a Orthopedic doc, keep wearing the knee support. I have meniscus degeneration which is a wearing away of the cartilage (cushion) between the thigh and leg bone - this is a very common condition. I wear a knee support and perform certain exercises to strengthen the muscle around this area. My knee had a ticking sound like snapping green beans and I had sudden sharp pain in the back of my knee. I had to get an MRI; you should do the same.
