Seven month old hit head on wooden rocker base?
I've called my doctor's office already, but my seven month rolled over and hit the side of her head on the wooden base to one of those gliding rockers at daycare. She was on a play mat that was an inch or two thick and then pushed up and rolled off and onto the rocker base. I was there when it happened and she cried, but calmed down as soon as I picked her up. She did have a red spot where she hit it, but it didn't look like it was swelling. What should I keep an eye for in the next 24 hours? Is it normal to just take a baby in to the doctor when they hit their heads? I can take her if I need to, but I don't want to seem over protective with my child.
If your daughter starts vomiting then you should take her to the ER- otherwise just watch her for a couple hours. I think she will be fine though. My son first started with the head bumping at that age too- the first time I was so nervous because he fell back on the wood floor and whacked it really hard. Babies are very resilient though. Be prepared for when she starts cruising- my son hits his head at least a few times a day.
