What Are Some Good Ways to Get Better at Martial Arts? (Boxing and Wrestling)?
I am a heavyweight and i fight my lighter, faster friend and he beats me everytime, any suggestions
For boxing set up your punches. Linear (straight) punches set up circular strikes. And change levels within your punching combos (ex. jab-cross at head, down to hook body, uppercut, hook to head).
If your wrestling set up chains of moves that logically follow one another. An example would be sweeping his hand/arm out to set up morote gari (double leg takedown), if he shoots his hips back to defend flow into ippon seoi nage (one arm shoulder throw). Simple progressions like that will take advantage of your opponent's moves to defend.
If your doing mma then seamlessly combine strikes with takedowns/grappling as part of your combos. Ex jab-cross-morote gari. Again a simple combo/progression, but simple is fast and fast wins fights.
