I've been thinking of taking some kind of Martial Arts?
I've been considering;
Sanshou
Muay Thai
Shotokan
Kung fu
I'm pretty tall, so I have a long reach but I don't weigh very much at all. That being said, which one of those would be most effective for someone like me? Or might there be one out there even more efficent?
I might as well add, I would be using this for possibly competing eventually if that makes it any easier to answer 
Firstly, it's far more convenient to go to a martial arts school that is close to you. Check out what's available locally. If you have to travel a very long distance to class, you might be put off training, or because of a time consuming journey, be able to train less.
After seeing what schools are in your area, try a class of each style, so you can decide which you like best. Talk to the students and the instructor. You could also ask about what kind of opportunities for competition you'll get eventually if you continue to train there.
If you want, you could also do some web research to find out what's involved in the styles you're interested in. Good luck!
