Attention all Pole Dancers!!!?

I'm creating a strength and flexibility routine to help out with pole dancing- moves that will help strengthen you to be able to do pole dancing easier, without needing an actual pole to do them.

I'm starting off with joint rotations and then a short jog to warm up, then stretches that are specific to help learn the splits and increase overall flexibility.

Ok so I'm good this far, but I wondering what kind of strength workouts to do.

Would getting hand grippers and that thing that you put between your legs for thigh grip help out? Because grip is super important I know that much! Would doing those kind of excersizes help?

Those plus arm and ab strength building... does that sound like a good routine to do?

I took lessons for 5 months, and now am teaching a few friends on my personal pole at home. Sounds like you have a great start! Really work the pilates and yoga, it will do wonders for your flexability and core.

If you can get into some kind of gymnastics or belly dancing class, you can only improve your technique. Lunges with or without weights are GREAT. Another great idea is to get a pull up bar. I have one that hooks to any door frame in your house. Make sure that your doing several of sets 5 throughout the day. As a rule, each time you pass the bar, do a set... it makes for a good constant workout for your arms. If you have the heels, wear them around the house for a few hours a day, it will help to tighten and fim up your butt and legs!

When you finally get your pole in (I recomend x-pole) make sure that you are learning your tricks both right and left handed. If you simply can't reverse them... make sure you're lifting free weights with your non dominate arm. If you don't... one arm will tone super quickly while the other remains flabby... it happened to me and I'm struggling to get my left arm looking like my right...lmao
